rickpaulson Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Hi all,I have a 2002 2.3 ZETEC.I am using the non remote key and everything functions fine bar the central locking. On locking/unlocking the near side rear door handle moves in and out a few times but rarely operates properly. It is especially inclined no to lock. I am not sure what could have failed and would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. Plus if anyone knows where to buy a remote key for a sensible price please give me a shout. My first post: great forum and I have saved a real packet using the top tips here. Rick Quote
gregers Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 welcome to the forum, for the remote fob try ebay, but you must 1st find out exactly what frequency you require. im thinking the wires in the door gaitors are fryed/broken,look in the faqs in the tech section for more details. Quote

rickpaulson Posted March 16, 2011 Author Report Posted March 16, 2011 Defo check loom from car to door you will find wire in there split and sometimes makes contact other times no Big common fault on all VW's Galaxys and Alhambras Ian Hi all and thanks for the advice so far.The wiring is fully intact. Symptoms go as follows. Each time i unlock/lock the near side rear door goes through 4 cycles i.e. lock-unlock-lock-unlock.The inside handle can be seen moving in and out and I have checked its' manual adjustment. I am wondering if there is a sensor that detects that the lock has moved/locked/unlocked? I have had a good look around and cannot detect a micro-switch. I am also wondering if it could be a control unit but am sceptical about it being on that door only. Appreciate any thoughts/guidance. Rick Quote
