I need some help desperately.....

Several weeks ago the alarm started to activate every half hour, so i removed fuse 26 from the footwell fuse box, but the car kept saying that an alarm service was required......now things have got worse.....

I went away for a week, and on return the Galaxy was a little reluctant to start, after a few attempts she fired. No problems for the next couple of days. Day 3 i had a low battery warning show on the dash console and then on day 4 the wipers would not operate. I have removed the 2 wiper motors, and have a 12v supply to each motor, the white and orange cable that links both motors (signalwire??) is fine, and the blue and yellow wire seems to supply the signal from the car.

In a stroke of genuis or madness, i thought that maybe the battery had lost charge, so decided to connect the battery to a charger. On reconnecting the battery the alarm went crazy with hazard lights flashing. Now the car won't turn over, and displays a power steering fault message. This is a little worrying as the power steering rack and pump got replaced in may last year...surely this is due to an electrical fault??

Also there is no power to the radio..maybe a fuse at the rear of the radio....

Any help or advice would be appreciated, otherwise it's a trip to Ford for them to take a look at the car.

It has been suggested on the RAC forum that the problem i am having may be down to the 'GEM' module. Does anyone know what sort of price FORD will charge to replace the module and programme the computer?

Thanks...

For anyone having the same problem or one of the problems above.....

The car would not turn over as the started motor was stuck and had to be replaced.

The power steering fault was down to an 80amp fuse being blown, which is under a cover on the side of the engine fuse box.

Once all the above was sorted out, the car then stalled and wouldn't start. This was traced back to a small hole in the fuel supply pipe, which joins the metal pipe entering the rear of the engine bay to the fuel filter. The wires passing close to the pipe had rubbed a small hole into the pipe, which would seem to be a common fault with the MK3.
