Removing An Exhaust

I am having trouble removing the centre box from the catalyst section, but the pipes appear stuck together. I tried twisting and hamering the centre silenser, using lots of WD40 and eneded up cutting the centre part just after the centre silenser. Is there a technique for removing the centre pipe from the catalyst pipe.

if there are 2 slots? that an exhaust clamp fits around---try elongating the slots like a spiral (like on the cardboard tube inside kitchen/loo rolls!! using a hacksaw cut it so you can literally peel the outer piece of exhaust off the inner on, the re-shape with pliers to put an exhaust clamp back on to re-assemble.

Thanks. In this case the slots are in the centre section so no problem if I destroy these. i could use a dremel.

I used a thin steel wheel in a disc cutter you have to be careful where the sparks go though

That's what I will be using and with goggles.

The dremel was useless as the exhaust was thick and hard. i took a grinder and sliced along the overlap and it came off. 2 minute job when you know how.

Pitty I spend an hour trying to figure it out
