just wonder if anyone can help me with this lot:

main point of interest for me is the dreaded needle valve wiring, im worried that i mightve shorted them together somehow, would this cause ecu failure? thanks. dan

1999 galaxy tdi AVG

changed engine due to valve failure which mashed the piston, used all components form original engine, took some starting but eventually went but with serious lack of power, vagcom pulled up the faults listed below, tried various components which didnt solve, eventually found more than a fair share of vacuum pipe faults this weekend, ran for 20 miles no issues, changed temp sensor to try and cure short gate time of glow plugs (fans cut in for a second or 2, light on and straight off), i put the original injector back in (swapped to try and cure needle valve fault-no joy), went for a drive out and now the glow plug light flashes constantly after 30seconds of running, ive swapped and re-swapped injector and temp sensor but its just the same???

ive got close to 11v feed to pin 2 (injector wire block) with battery voltage well over 12v cant seem to see any loose or bad connections anywhere,

could the ecu suffer damage if pins 11 and 12 (needle sensor) have shorted somewhere? any way of checking this circuit without removing ecu as its a chore to remove,

am i right in thinking the needle valve solenoid works by feed from ecu which operates solenoid and the ecu measures the distortion in the return voltage caused by magnetic interference? does anyone know the typical or maximum return voltage to ecu?

resistance thru both injectors was around 104-5 i read that this is within limits.

oh and brake lights are working, but does this rule out pedal switch???

thanks. dan.

heres the fault list:
