stoner Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Hi My '07 MK III Galaxy 2.0 TDCi has just come back from it's fourth service (49k miles)Was advised there were metal particles in the fuel filter, garage said this might be an early sign of fuel pump failure! Apparently the fuel pump is on the end of the camshaft, or on main cambelt (didn't get a straight answer) so changing is a big job. Anyone else had this problem?Anyone else had a fuel pump fail on the MK III Galaxy? Quote
buford_t_justice Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Was this discovered after renewing the fuel filter? It's just that fuel filters are replaced every third service. Not had this problem reported to me though but slightly disturbing to hear this ! Quote

This was when the fuel filter was replaced, think this is the second time it's been replacedAlthough Ford don't give you anything sensible like a service schedule, my understanding is it's oil & filter every service, then fuel & air every second.
