g mee Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Hi, just got a 2010 galaxy, zetec. I have looked for the USB connection in the glovebox and it is not there. Is there somewhere else to look? or does smebody know what colours of wires are normally connected to the USB connection in case they are behind the glove box. Thanks in advance all G Quote
insider Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Unless you upgraded to a Sony DAB audio unit you won't have a USB port. It's not available on the standard 6000 audio unit in the Zetec: Quote
g mee Posted February 18, 2011 Author Report Posted February 18, 2011 Thanks for that. Strange enough i seem to have the bluetooth function.. Quote
Rodders53 Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 The USB is an extra - even on the DAB model radios. (My 2009 Ghia has DAB but no USB). All models get the BT hands-free. SOME (rare) devices can stream (play) audio via bluetooth to the radio as well. It might be possible to retrofit the USB module but iirc when I googled it, it was an arm and a leg. The MP3 CD player is one option, as is using the headphone out of a MP3 player/iPod to connect to the aux in jack socket in the glovebox. Quote
g mee Posted February 21, 2011 Author Report Posted February 21, 2011 looks like i will have to use the aux input. No big deal really. Thanks guys Quote
