Guest Murdock Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 Does the Shalaxy have a pollen filter and if it does where is it? Is this filter the same as the air con filter and incidently where is that also? My Brother changed his air con filter in his Vectra as he was feeling ill when he ran the air con. I read something about sick car syndrome where bacteria forms on the filter and causes this feeling. Anybody else heard of this? Quote
Guest nimrod Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 Yes it has one, its located on the passenger side of the scuttle area, up behind the wiper mech, do a search on the topic it has been covered a few times including a how to change it in photo form! sick car syndrome is sometimes caused by bacterial growth on the evaporator in the heater unit, when the aircon is switched off the condensation left on it encourages the growth of mould and bacterior leading to a bad smell! and sick car syndrome! you can get bacterial cleaning sprays to help overcome this from aircon specialists or good motorist shops or some people say spraying milton into the heater air intake works! also its advisable to switch the air con off before you need to and just leave the heater running even on cold in order to allow the evaporator to dry off and discorouge the grotwh Quote
