boeridge Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Hi Guys, I have a 53plate 90bhp lx galaxy. Today as i approached a junction and changed down into first there was a horrible bang and now i cannot get any gears. The clutch feels fine and the gearbox linkage is ok [its moving]Its sounds like the gear has not quite engaged. The noise its makes just sounds expensive! [ If you put it into gear with the engine off then try to start it, it makes the same noise] I was towed home as it wasnt far but above 20mph you could hear a definate mechanical grating Any ideas? Sounds like a garage job but would value anyones opinion Cheers......Simon Quote
