marpick Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 Hi, I know this has been an issue I've read in other posts but all was fine until it stuttered and cut-out last week, got it going again and it's been ok but now won't start at all. Door LED goes crazy and there's no spark at the plugs, together with a beeping off the dash when I turn the ignition. Is this a typical relay fault??? Any advice welcome before I shell out for an auto-electrician! Quote
mikej Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 (edited) Have you tried another key, can you here the fuel pump kick in when you turn key in ignition ? Edited January 30, 2011 by mikej Quote
marpick Posted February 10, 2011 Author Report Posted February 10, 2011 Mikej, Have renewed the drivers door lock which was faulty but still no go, zero spark at the plugs so I'm at a loss as to what to do, could it have anything to do with the infamous relay 30? I only have the 1 key so I cannot try an alternative! Martin Quote

Any advice welcome before I shell out for an auto-electrician! I have a 2.8 Galaxy and last week it did the same, I joined this forum in seach of an answer (I am an auto electrician) everything I read on here sugested it was the key code and that I needed a locksmith or the main dealer to re-code the keys.Locksmith would not touch it, saying that if it has lost the code once it could happen again.Main dealer charged me Quote
marpick Posted February 11, 2011 Author Report Posted February 11, 2011 Mine cut-out at 40mph and restarted after a few minutes. Sluttered a bit here and there and came out the other morning and no-go...... Not sure as it appeared to be an intermittent fault that it's a recode job, suggests like yours it's a wiring fault!!
