Hi All. I have read a couple of topics and it wasn't advised but this is what i done.

My mk1 galaxy was auto. All the clutchs are worn out, it juddders and slips and is well knackered.

I have a mk1 5 speed manual which i took the gearbox out of and fitted in the auto.

Everything was a straight swap. from pedals to engine mounts the whole kit and kaboodal.

My problem now is although everything works fine my speedo is way out. car 30mph speedo 45

car 50 speedo 70.

Now i have read the clock can be programed but is that what i need and does anybody know who can do it. I have vcds lite but unregistered, can it be done with that. will putting the sender unit from the auto gearbox cure the problem. Any help will be greatly received.

The senders outputs are quite different, its a simple byte change within the memory of your current cluster but you'll need vag-tacho not vagcom/vcds to do it.

Thanks for the reply. Thats exactly what i wanted to hear.

Is there anybody that can do it for me.

I'm in north Essex 10 miles from cambridge. Quite willing to travel a bit. And i'm not asking for it to be done for free.

I suspect that will be your biggest problem, there are only a couple of people on here with Vag-Tacho and I'm not sure how comfortable they are with using it. The Mk1 is different to the Mk2 in terms of coding as well so it might end up being easier for you to source a replacement cluster from a manual car and just swap it over.
