swifty Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Hi all im after a bit of advise on what to do about my VW caddy its on a 56 plate and only done 34000 miles, the gearbox has given up and although ive got a feeling its out of warranty I feel at that low mileage I should be able to get it replaced by VW. Any ideas on how I would go about this?Ive never had anything happen like this before. Thanks Swifty Quote
daddyfixit Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 if you have a full vw service history, with all vw stamps in the book, that can be backed up when they check on their in-house system----then thats good news !!! you should ring vw customer care line (numbers in your handbook) they will ask you to go to nearest vw dealer to be checked out, the dealership then phones VAG with a report/price. VAG may offer whats called a goodwill claim, they will pay only a percentage of the repair costs of having it repaired by the dealership,VAG decides if/how much contribution they will make---its nothing to do with the dealership!!!!! if its not a full vw service history then they wont even consider it.....
