Both horn switches on my 96 Galaxy have broken. I purchased new ones but can't get the old out very easily. It appears there are a couple of tabs at the base that hold it in place in the steering wheel.

Is a special tool required? Or can I just brute force them out...

thanks

Have a look at http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/Forum/index.php?showtopic=1356

You need torx to get the back off the steering wheel column, but be careful about the airbag - you need to disconnect the battery for some time.

I just pulled the switch out from the front and cut and reconnected the wires.

Did mine the other day an absolute doddle

Undo 2 screws at the back alan type ones

Lift up gently on airbag there is enough slack on the connecting ribbon to let it sit on steering wheel

And hey presto do your stuff and put it back!

1 screw to earth and all others are push on

It looks like an expensive motor car again

Not a Nissan

Dangerous ( not if you nice and gentle )

Or ask you friend to hold it OH ER MISSIS

By the way do you know how to get airbags out of eyeball sockets mmmmmmmmmmm
