Simon_H Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Thanks to this forum I've managed to fix a couple of annoying - but obviously widespread - problems on my MkII Galaxy Ghia:Weird door locking/unlocking & elec window opening issues - found broken wires in every door gaiter, fixed them and now it all works beautifullyRear screen washer - found disconnected pipe in passenger footwell Still got a few niggles to deal with, hopefully searching here will give me clues to those too:Cruise control stopped working a few years back - will have a look for a perished vac pipe as suggestedOne front washer is just dribbling - blocked or failed? I've never seen screen washers with their own individual water & elec supply before! Anyway, just thought I'd register my appreciation for all the folks who've taken the time to offer such great free advice. Extra special thanks are due to the chap who made a full guide with colour photos on how to check out the wiring in your door gaiters! If I ever solve a Galaxy problem which hasn't been solved on here before (unlikely, I know), maybe I can give something back. Quote

Mirez Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 (edited) Likewise, when they are working its an awesome vehicle and to be fair what generally fails is the irritaing stuff rather then the "thats you stopped at the side of the road" stuff! Had someone stick a note on mine asking if I'd like to sell tonight, first car I've owned that's managed that  As for your other issues Simon, the CC on the petrol is stupidly overcomplicated! When I had mine the pump was fine, there is a vac pipe that runs around the side and back of the engine bay that was perished in about 5 places on mine - chop a bit off and take it to a local motor factor's and they matched the diameter up to fuel line which is significantly stronger and more durable, the whole piece cost about £10 as opposed to Fords £100+. The washer jet will be blocked or covered in limescale, pop it out disconnect the pipe and soak it in anti-scale. Its a shared water supply - there is a T under the bonnet insulation and the electrical supply is purely for the heating  Edited January 10, 2011 by Mirez Quote

Just jesting. The niggles get me down at times but every other car I've owned has been worse. Quote
