torvil Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 My DVD system has stopped working. It always was a bit delicate and had to be reset by switching engine off, keys out if I rushed the start-up. I know there are threads on here about this topic but no one has posted a resolution, only their problem, symptom, intention. I have power going onto the DVD but no power to screens. I don't know whether my DVD player and or control unit is faulty. The model is a Visteon mb-8000. Any advice, history, or experience would be so much appreciated. Quote

Check very carefully the wiring connectors under the seats - you'll need to remove the seat ideally to get proper access to the connector and remove the tape around it. I've fixed countless ones now where the cable hasn't been clamped properly by the crimp, couple that with them wrapping the cabling excessively so the out side cables are over tight - they seem to come loose quite often. If you are handly with a soldering iron then replace the connector entirely, I use PC D-Sub ones so they can still be removed, can be bolted together and can be purchased gold plated if required.
