xpc316e Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 (edited) I am trying to fit a genuine Ford dog guard to my 2003 53 plate Galaxy. It needs the upper seat belt anchors on the C pillar to be replaced with a longer bolt, but I am baffled by the type of fixing used on the old bolt I need to remove. It isn't a TX5, or TX5.5, but is somewhere between the two with what looks like 12 points to the 6 on a TX fixing. Can anyone help with a name for this type of fastening? Thanks in anticipation. xpc316e Posted December 30, 2010 Author Report Posted December 30, 2010 Many thanks Rodders. I spent ages searching around the web, but you seem to have hit the nail right on the head. I have ordered a set of xzn bits from Amazon for delivery tomorrow. I squeezed under the deadline for delivery by 21 minutes, so thanks again for posting so swiftly. Quote
sparky Paul Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 (edited) The most common 12-point drive bits are the 'spline' type, drive bit sets are available from most motor factors in the UK. Edited December 30, 2010 by sparky Paul Quote
xpc316e Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 I can confirm that the fasteners are the XZN type: I have just completed the job, and am very pleased with the Ford dog guard. The instructions weren't up to much though; it was almost easier to figure it out without them. Quote
