SEVEN UP Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 just what you need at christmas is for your handbrake to brake!!! the release button on my galaxy has just stopped releasing and Im not sure if this is gonna be another common fault in the future? Its a 56 plate 1.8tdilx with 69,000 miles on it. In the handbrake mechanism there is a tiny cable that works the release mechanism and this has snapped but the place its snapped in is where it would be chafing as the button is pressed over time, you cannot buy just the cable you can get the handle and button seperate for around Quote
Bazzzza Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 Sorry to hear that mate, something to look out for with mine. I have a 56 plate galaxy with a slack handbrake. If you don't mind me asking, how do you tighten it up. Quote
