Ace1 Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 Hi, While sitting in traffic due to the recent snow I noticed smoke coming from under the bonnet of my Galaxy 1.9tdi. I parked up straight away and jumped out. When I got back in I noticed a burning rubber smell in the car. I've given the car to the dealer and he just phoned to say he's checked the clutch and he can't find the problem. Has anyone had any similar issues? Thanks, SJ Quote
marinabrid Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 rubber smell could be a drive belt sometimes the aircon clutch can sieze or maybe another pulley thats straining the belt ??? just a thought maybe a load of tosh but sometimes im right, the wife tells me that as well. wouldnt have thought it was the clutch if you were sat in traffic unless you were slipping it excessively.
