My engine management light came on this morning on my 53 plate galaxy 2.3 zetec.

I've since noticed i have a brake light out, could this be the problem,

as car appears to be running ok still. Thanks

A duff bulb or faulty switch bringing on the engine management light, well thats a new one on me i,ve never had that and this bus eats bulbs . My light comes on regular due to engine issues, emissions etc (lpg) but never a bulb? You live and learn. You may want to invest in a code reader, cheap enough to buy i've used mine approx a doz times now to reset light .

Are you sure it's your management light and not your bulb test??

I've had the engine management light come on TWICE in the three years i've owned my 2003 / 2.3 ltr Gal Zetec...each time it's been down to the failure of the front side light. Replacing these bulbs is a bug**r as you have to access through the small wheel-arch sliding flap...then locate, twist and pull out holder (eventually)...i still have the wrist bruises from replacing the second one as recently as last week! So, YES, it can be down to a simple bulb!

(p.s. i then had to hold the wee black 'milegae zeroing' dashboard switch in as i turned on the engine after bulb replacement (i believe this resets the dashboard light after the fault, bulb, has been rectified)
