What does a blue envelope with a dot in it signify next to the last two messages i posted. I have searched the site but can't find anything to explain it? Am i doing something wrong.

Ah, the little envelopes - don't know how they decide on their colour, but I think that a little dot in the middle means that you have made a posting to that thread. Dark blue = you have'nt read all posts on a thread, light blue = you have read all posts on that thread.

It doesn't tell you how a topic becomes "hot" or what the dot is for

Ivor- when you look at the post does the envelope have a 'dot' in the middle or is it just me that can see it on my posts?

Cheers

Nimrod, I posted this thread with the title Blue Envelopes in the technical section. In the first left column we get envelopes in various colours, this post is blue but i see it with a small dot in the centre of the envelope, i can't see anyone else with a dot in an envelope on my screen. When you have started a thread do you see a dot in the envelope, i.e only the author sees these dots. all these dots are making me dizzy...

I can see the dots in the middle of the envelopes when you go to each section and it lists the topics. It appears that there is a dot in the envelope against any thread to which you have posted a message - irrespecive of whether or not it was you that started the topic.

So how many people can see these dots then - Just a select few of us or everyone?
