suicidalbadger Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 (edited) Recently on a 104,000mile TDI Auto, the gearbox seems to slip in second when under load it also starts squeling noise less drive power and high revs. Take your foot off and it behaves like a slipping clutch when it grips again. It seems to happen more when cold. Is this the end of the gearbox? is it a common fault? Thanks for any suggestions on what may be wrong. Edited November 22, 2010 by suicidalbadger Quote
chromedome Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 It could be worth getting the ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) changed as it "burns" with age. You would need a garage to do this as the ATF level has to be checked when it's at a particular temperature. Quote
