I'm having some trouble with the boot lid in my Alhambra. I hope it's similar to a Galaxy.

The car constantly thinks the boot is open and it's causing alarm problems. I guess it's something to do with the switch that tells the car when it is shut. Does anyone know where that is or how it works? Or have a suitable wiring diagram?

Hi there, Alhambra's are more than welome.

Its most likley you have a broken wire in the tailgate.open the tailgate under top right rubber seal drivers side , The wire colour your looking for is 0.5 mm red and brown.very often there will be other faults in this area so check all rear lights fog etc,

good luck please let us know how you get on

Cheers! I've actually identified that loom as a mess while I'm poking around randomly. There is a black wire, with a red stripe, 0.5mm which is definitely broken. I've hashed it together again. Do you know what it is for?

The brown wire with the red stripe is in tact and looks good. Do you know where in the boot lid it comes from? I'm guessing the locking mechanism.

wouldn't be the first time haynes get it wrong. the red/ black could be tailgate as haynes shows this prefuse, to confirm its fuse 55 5amp block conection 26 to tailgate.

but if all works happy days.
