stanstag Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 I've got a 2002 V6 Galaxy. Anyone know how to remove the clock on the top of the dashboard? Mine doesn't illuminate and I presume it should so need to remove it. It feel quite loose as if it should come out quite easily but I can't get it out! Any ideas? Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 I think that the whole top centre section into which the clock is set lifts out after prizing the edges carefully with a soft screwdriver. Pretty sure that there was a thread about this a few years back...... have you tried a search? Quote
stanstag Posted November 14, 2010 Author Report Posted November 14, 2010 Never thought to do a search! I presume the clock should illuminate? I've not had it long and it's never lit up while I've had it. Quote
suzuki91 Posted November 14, 2010 Report Posted November 14, 2010 it does prize out in one piece with the surround. Quote

Thomas K Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 Yes, it should be illuminated. A small wooden blade, like an icecream stick or half a clothes peg, is a very usefuklle tool for picking out the hole unit. Quote
stanstag Posted November 15, 2010 Author Report Posted November 15, 2010 Great idea, I'll give it a go! Any idea what could be wrong back there? Is there a bulb that could have blown? Quote

Yup just lever it out from the sides and back, the fronts is the "hinge" if you like with the longer plastic pieces. It should be that on the earlier (pre 03) cars then the clock was illuminated with a small dash lamp - post 03 then it changed to LED however in reality it seems to be a couple of years either side of this and more dependent on spec then anything else.
