Guest ianwatson001 Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 Ive just bought an 03 plate 2.3 LX galaxy and am looking into retro fitting a CD changer the Sony CDX T69 is the loom already wired in the galaxy to the back compartment where it goes? Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 It should be, but best to check just to make sure. Try looking from the access panel where the jack is kept, and also if necessary removing the storage bin - from memory it is held in by just a few screws. You may find that the other end is already connected to the factory-fit head unit. Quote

As Ivor says, the loom should be there but it will be the ford loom not the sony loom (you say you want to fit a T69 sony changer).Ford and sony looms are different. To fit a sony changer to a ford headunit, you will need to fit a converter box and in my previous 2.3 zetec, I had to install this at the head unit side and pass through a sony loom to the back regardless.I did try to see if i could connect the converter box at the back utilising the ford loom but was not possible. Guest JonathanK Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Just taken the bin out of my 02 Seat and the only connector I can find is hooked up to what looks like an ariel amplifier - white box, screwed to a body strut but no 'free end'. I've just ordered a Visteon original fit changer from Add A CD Changer.co.uk so I hope to goodness it's there or I'll be wiring the loom forever more. Anyone got any ideas where else to look and what kind of connector I'm looking for? Thanks JK Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Also look in the side panel where the jack and wheelbrace are fitted (use a torch and mirror if necessary), and behind the head unit in the centre console for the other end of the lead. Quote
