stevemac Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 Just bought an 08 plate Zetec 2.0 TDI from a car supermarket & new to this site. When we press the key fob to lock & arm the alarm the indicator lights do not flash as they should (they do when you disarm). Also the red 'i' indicator on the dash flashes once the car is locked. To be clear the car does lock and we have tested the alarm also, it's just that it should flash so that you know visually it is locked. Also very occasionally the car has drawn a blank on turning the ignition - next turn it starts Reading through this forum there does seem to be lots of electrical type faults. Any ideas? Thanks Quote
Mirez Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 I'm not that clued up on the Mk3 but on mondeos and focus's (foc-i?) if the indicators don't flash on lock then it "thinks" a door is still open - including bonnet and boot. Worth checking each sensor is working correctly. Quote
Rodders53 Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 The first press of the key locks the doors. The second press deadlocks them and flashes the indicators. It's all in the manual (well maybe not the bit about the indicators?) but that's how my 'new to me' 2009 works. If only Ford published the manuals online I'd have a downloaded copy to refer to. Quote
Phillyphatass Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 Hi Stevemac, did you get an answer to this. I have a 57 Ghia. The manual says that the indicators flash once on the first press of the key but not on the second (for deadlocking). Ours, like yours, do not flash on the first press, but then they do on the second press. Quote
