Jim Astill Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 2001 1.9 115 Diesel Galaxy MkII Head gasket etc replaced and head skimmed earlier in year. Getting white sooty smoke from exhaust, when braking get a loss of power and then a rattle from the engine. Swiching off resets the problem but it soon starts up again. Don't think its connected to the Aux heater issue and thinking it could be turbo related? Quote
seatkid Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 White smoke often associated with timing - check cambelt is correctly installed. Could be the infamous loose bottom pulley (sheared woodruff key iirc) - not sure if thats a MK1 or Mk2 thing though. Quote
