Abs Reset

Hi,

just changed the ABS rings on my 96 Galaxy but the ABS light is still on? also noticed that the hand break light stays on ???

Any help would be good !!!

Also when i turn on the ignition, i get a series of beeps for a while, never noticed it before !!

Have you driven the car over 20mph. Doing so should clear the ABS if everything is ok.

i did go for a short drive over 20 but the light is still on !!! at my witts end now lol, how can i check the small readers that monitor the abs rings ?? is it an impedance issue ??

I'm pretty sure you just check each sensor for an open circuit. If it is it's duff.

Handbrake light is a switch on the handbrake lever I think.

If the handbreak light is on check the fluid level in the resevoir, if it's ok you might need to adjust the break cable. Mine one day decided to stretch & the brake light stayed on it would go out if I pushed the handbrake lever down. The handbrake adjuster is just infront of the rear axles you'll need some mole grips & a spanner to adjust it.. takes around 20 mins to do..depending on your size u might be able to jack up one of the rear wheels & slip under the car to reach it..
