Underfloor Storage

Hi, brand new to this forum so apologies in advance for stupid and inane questions !! i take delivery on fri 15th of my new galaxy zetec, (latest model mk3 facelift or mk 4??) its all happened a bit suddenly and ive heard mention of underfloor storage, its not mentioned in brochure can anyone tell me where it is (I know its gonna be underfloor)specifics please

Hello and welcome from another newbie (just got a July 2009 Ghia automatic).

 

There are two: one behind the driver's seat and one behind the passenger seats (in front of the 2nd row seats). The one behind the driver contains the tyre gunk and compressor leaving space for an emergency triangle and first aid kit (or similar bits and bobs).

 

Neither are particularly big or useful (in my opinion) and have floor-supporting polystyrene foam mouldings that take up space / restrict what you can fit in.

 

NB Your supplying dealer should show you all these sorts of things as part of the handover ritual. If Ford were sensible they'd have user manuals available for download so you could read up before you buy (like Land Rover do).

Thanks for the reply rodders, yes online manuals would be a god-send especially for the ford 6000 radio cd, cant find one anywhere on the net, theres been a dely in my pick up of the car :( should be today but wont be until wed 20th now grrrr

Hi,

 

You don't mention what trim level you are getting, but the ones without the rear air con get a good sized storage area under the boot floor. High trim cars don't get it as it is full of the air con stuff.

It's the Zetec he's getting so it should have the boot stowage area you mention....

My 2009 Ghia doesn't (the salesman tried to show me it but couldn't prise the floor up!).
