dodalexander Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 I have a set of 16" alloys from a Mk1 Galaxy (the kind of lattice pattern wheels), and was planning to fit them on my 2002 Mk2 TDi Galaxy to replace the aftermarket alloys it came with. However the Mk1 alloys seem to catch the brake caliper on the front wheel! That will teach me for assuming they would fit, but is this a well-known point or has something been changed on my car that would cause this? Cheers,George Quote

dodalexander Posted October 9, 2010 Author Report Posted October 9, 2010 sounds like there different sizes?are the mk1 15 inch? No, they're 16 inch, but rather than catching on the rim itself it is the side of the caliper that seems to stick out beyond the face of the hub, and catches the back of the lattice/spokes of the wheel. I've found some 3mm spacers on Ebay which I guess could solve the problem - are there any drawbacks to using these? Quote
