Mirez Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 Well have a read of this first: Inner Halfshaft I'd get a second opinion first as play in that shaft can look a lot like driveshaft rotatational play. If you do need to replace the driveshafts then OEM is a good route, having used pattern parts they caused more problems then anything else with imbalance, noise and excessive play. I've actually just replaced both inner CV's using the same company as I used in that halfshaft post - the result is a really tight front end and its certainly feels better then the old one did after replacing both shafts with OEM in the end. I must say the drivers side shaft is a doddle to pop out and replace, its the passenger side one that is more awkward as you need to seperate the hub. Quote
gapthree Posted October 8, 2010 Author Report Posted October 8, 2010 Hi Mirez Thanks for the info, and the comments regarding tightening up the front end. I pressumed with the motorway mileage the wishbone bushes would be responsible for the general loosenes at the front end but I will now repair with OEM. I think if I had posted before my journey to Denamrk and seen your reply I would not have risked it. Still it made it. I'll get it checked out and get it done before it goes any where else! Maybe I do not have to change the w/bone bushes now so I'll post and let you all know. Thanks, Gapthree Quote
