2004 Galaxy Fan Runing On

I have recently purchased a 2004 130bhp Galaxy sometimes the temperature gauge goes up to 90 when cold and then back to 0 and if you remove the key the rad fan runs !!!! Any ideas

When your vagcom arrives you'll be able to diagnose it but on the symptoms alone a faulty coolent sensor would be the most likely cause.
