Replacement Remote Key Element Programming

My wife (bless her) took her remote key for a 2004 Galaxy swimming and has killed the remote function of the key (we have tried replacing batteries and drying it in the airing cupboard but no luck).

You are trying to enter the wrong mode ;) Assuming you have swapped the blade and transponder over then the car should start fine and you don't need to enter PATS programming more - its the remote side you are trying to fix? To enter that mode:

 

(1) You need to stand outside, shut all the doors, then use the key in the drivers door lock - turn in to the right (left on some) and hold it there very briefly then release and repeat twice more - when you take the key out of the lock the red led on the door should then be illuminated. (2) Press and hold the lock button on the remote then press the unlock button 3 times - release the locking button and both the car LED and key LED should flash to confirm they were coded correctly - you now need to quickly repeat step 2 with the other remote key else that'll stop working as they must be coded at the same time!

Success - key fob programmed to car and I did the other one at the same time.
