cyborg Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 hopefully Could be an airblock or its been topped up with water for so long there's very little in way of coolent you might get lucky.try leaving the coolent cap off overnight. Putting the heater on max, blows cold air over radiator behind dash.Try putting just rear heater on see if you have any heat. Impaler on waterpump failure its a commen problem or secoundry pump failure there's a 2nd one to drive coolent to rear heater test it by putting in a pipe then you just need a bucket of water and immerse the bottom of pump in it . Either way test both. Quote

edatelder Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 1 Are the two thermoststically controlled radiator fans coming on when the engine is hot? I had a 2.8V6 were they both failed. It was a tricky DIY to replace them. They must both run when the temp moves toward the red.2. Keep the syetem topped up. Quote
markieboy123 Posted September 26, 2010 Author Report Posted September 26, 2010 thanks for the advice...the fans seem ok...they cut in and work at different speeds i read on here cos i have climate controlstill think it may be blocked radiator or thermostat..ran it today on idle for about 45 mins..the bottom hose feels warm adj to the thermostat housing at the top of the engine but as it goes to the bottom of the radiator the hose is coldthink i`m gonna change the thermostat and flush the systemhas anyone on here done that...if soi would apreciate any step by step instructions Quote
