randall977 Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 I picked up my two year old 2.0 TDCi Ghia yesterday and drove it home (having just bought it) and all was fine. I had asked the previous owner a few times if they had had any problems with the PAS, they said no. I gave the engine bay a bit of a clean (just wiped the covers with a rag), got in the car switched on the engine and 'power steering malfunction' flashed up for a few seconds. Since then it has not done it and the steering feels absolutely fine. Should I be worried? Also does this car have a 3 year warranty - the service book suggest 12 months??? Greatful for any replies! insider Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 It is a 3 year warranty. The first year is covered by the manufacturer, years 2 and 3 by the Dealer. So, if a problem develops within the 3 years from when it was registered, take it to a Ford Dealer and the warranty will be honoured (as long as the fault is covered by it!) buford_t_justice Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 That message is a feature! Mine does it from time to time but nothing is wrong with the power steering. Quote
