djacks42 Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Can anyone tell me if this sounds correct.. It is standard c/l - not remote. I have 2 sets of keys with 2 in each as follows: Set 1 has a flat red key and a flat black key. The red key operates the pass-door/tailgate/ignition. The black key operates the driver door only. Set 2 has a torch black key and a flat black key. The torch key works as per the above red key, and the flat black key is as per the above black key. I have never had a car before that has seperate keys for driver and pass door. I am fairly certain that the barrels have never been replaced. Quote
Guest vitrocmax Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Although you say you are fairly certain the lock has not been changed, unless you've had the car from new you cannot be sure. It seems almost beyond doubt that the driver's door lock has been changed at some point. :o You would expect a torch key and a red key to work all the doors. :) The cylinder would be supplied with black keys, and they would be coded to the PATS when it was fitted. Chances are that this was the result of a break-in attempt. Quote
Guest nimrod Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Take the red key and stash it somewhere safe! its the master key, it will save you a bit of hassle if you ever get new keys programed into the PAT's system it sounds like the drivers lock has been changed as the black keys only operate it and nothing else Quote
