while on my hols i called at garage for fuel,as the dogs were in the car i turned key twice in drivers door etc and went to pay. to my suprise the alarm went off,so i did it again, the led in the drivers door came on after about 6 seconds. iam not in the habit of leaving the dogs in the car so its not that important but i was wondering if there might be a fault somewhere. has anyone come across this before.thanks t bag

From my experience with the car, alarm is activated by locking car (remotely or with key), then any movement inside car triggers alarm. Mine has only gone off by accident a couple of times; once when a fly was locked in the car, another when a sun blind fell off a window. Alarm will also go off if bonnet is open(ed) while car locked as I found out once when accidentally locking the car remotely while checking the oil level. Seems to me your alarm is working as it should!

My alarm started going off for no reason so i disconnected the sensors inside the door pillars as suggested by another forum member i have had no probs since ;)

Hi

Don't want to upset anyone here, but the original post seems to be quite clear, and from someone who has obviously read his manual correctly. If you turn the key twice (or on my car, press the lock button twice on the remote fob) the manual says the int. sensors are disabled. Clearly , on the OP's car and on mine, that doesn't happen. (I get the same because I have two young children to keep safe in the car while I pay for fuel)

I have googled and found no answer, just plenty of owners asking the question.

I really should get down to my dealer and ask him (but he's closed at the moment - terrible service, it's only 9pm on a Saturday).

If I find out befor eyou do I'll post the answer.........

I have found a way round my problem,i open each door and press in the lever then close the door which only leaves the boot unlocked.I only hope the sight of my german shepherd and lurcher put them off.I look forward to your garages info.tbag.

Good lateral thinking there, TBag. However much my children terrify me, I don't think they are capable of savaging a car thief.

But you & I both know that the manual says it's possible to disable the sensors (but not by pulling the wires off them!). I phoned mine, who told me to press the button on the door pillar near the sensors. I said I didn't think I had a button, but I woul;d go out to check. Sure enough, there is no button!

I'll have to actually take it to them to ask them, but it all takes time...

I'll keep you posted - again

Alan
