Galaxy Titanium (mar 2010 Model) Roof Bars

Hello All,

 

I would be very grateful if someone could help by telling me which roof bars to use for my new Galaxy (new 2010 Model). I hae checked THUKE, HALFORDS, and lots of others online, but no joy.

hi there, i to have looked at the roof bars and got prices from cheap halfords to the thule type but found that genuin ford bars are about the same price but also when not in use they move to the rear and turn into a neat looking spoiler.#all the others dont sit together.

Haven't bought roof bars yet, but also have a 2010 Galaxy Titanium. Spoke to roofbox.co.uk and have checked with the fitting guide on the Thule website, and for Thule you need:

1) Rapid System 753 Fixpoint kit

2) 4016 foot kit (this is for Galaxy 2010 on only!)

3) a set of bars (either 869 Aero bars or 769 Square bars.

 

You could also go for the genuine Ford bars. These look good, but you can't use the whole width of the bars. If this is an issue, the Thule kit might be a better option.

 

Be careful when looking, as the roof rail design changed with the 2010 facelift (the 2006-2010 cars had T-tracks), so the pre-2010 cars need different fittings.

 

Halfords sell the Thule kit, but the fitting guide in store isn't very clear. Roofbox.co.uk also offer a free 'lock matching' service for Thule stuff bought from them, which saves you money and means you only need one key for all the locks ;-)

Hi

 

I have the Oct 2010 Gal Titanium edition which is the "facelift" model

 

As mentioned before, this has "protruding" rails on the roof, as opposed to "fix points" for roof bars, which were on the 56 plate to pre Oct 10 plate models

 

I looked at Thule and Halfords bars, but eventually went for the genuine Ford bars
