NikNak Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Can anyone recommend a 'reliable' dealer in (or around) the Southampton area, who are able to get the job gone right first time and with no hassles, please?? As i am just about fed up with Bristol Street Motors (see also their Chandlers Ford depot)........ Cheers, Nick Quote
A Krisis Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 I would like to recommend Hendy Ford. Sadly, my recent experience was not good. Sorry I could not be more positive. Regrads A Krisis Quote
Taliska Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 There may be a connection between them Handy people and the problem with the wrong oil in my TDI. Taliska. Quote
Taliska Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Looked on the Ford website and found these listed... Rayco Ford - RomseyFord House, Winchester Road, Romsey. SO51 8HX. Tel: 01794 512576 [Ford Accident Repair Centre] [Motability] [Rapid Fit] [Ford Direct Used Cars] [Nectar] Nicklens Garage - Fordingbridge22 Provost Street, Fordingbridge. SP6 1AY. Tel: 01425 653145 [Rapid Fit] [Ford Direct Used Cars] Hendy Ford - Southampton360-364 Shirley Road, Southampton. SO15 3UF. Tel: 02380 701700 [Motability] [Rapid Fit] [Ford Direct Used Cars] [Nectar] Go to http://www.ford.co.uk/ie/service_repair/-/...rvicing/-/-/-/-and put in your postcode - click on the map and have fun. Hendy looks as if it has it sewn up over the south - I'd imagine that some will be better than others. I wish I could take my Galaxy to my last Audi dealer - they were very good. The car's practically a VW/Audi, after all I can find Audi rings on some of the parts. Quote
Guest pugwash Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004  Be careful if you go to Rayco Ford at Romsey. They serviced my galaxy for 60,000 miles and then the diff failed because it didn.t have any oil in it! They have told me that as far as they are concerned they have serviced it properly and not their fault! Thay have wriggled and lied throughout the questioning and now it is going to be settled in court. Probabley the worst dealer I have ever dealt with. It is this kind of dealer that brings the motor trade into disrepute. Quote
NikNak Posted May 7, 2004 Author Report Posted May 7, 2004 Blimey........ cheers Pugwash, and there was me thinking of 'giving them a go' next time. :( Bristol Street (in Shirley) AKA Hendy Ford, did the first service on my motor using the collect and deliver option. The service was carried out OK, but unfortunatley when the car was returned there were lovely size 10 oily boot prints in the rear of the car......... and being a beige interior, they sort of stuck out like a pregnant womans tummy, ........... So, me being me, gets on the phone, complains like hell to the service manager........ got the car collected (again), had a full valet and wash, car delivered back to me..... all for free! Course, had they got it right first time........... however, in this instance i got a free wash and blow dry for nowt. Nick Quote
iainkirk Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 The words "reliable" and "dealer" in the same sentence.....not used very often on here!!! Quote
Guest kev140766 Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I live in Romsey and have used Rayco for spares. Fairly helpful. Never had them do any work though. They replaced the suspension and cambelt on my Mondeo and did a good job. My galaxy has a full Hendy service record and all the reciepts look reasonable. The parts dept at hendy's in C/Ford are brilliant. Quote
