Mirez Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 hi my power steering belt snapped a few days ago just went 2 put a new 1 on and it is to loose any1 know how 2 tighten it??????? Its self tightened by the tensioner - how loose is loose? More then 2cm would suggest you have the wrong belt - there are a fair few options depending on engine and spec. Quote

Mirez Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 If its on right then it can only really be the wrong belt or a broken tensioner / pully Quote
lisap Posted July 29, 2010 Author Report Posted July 29, 2010 If its on right then it can only really be the wrong belt or a broken tensioner / pully will check if correct belt with local supplier, otherwise will check tensioner. thanx for your help, will let you know how i get on. Quote
sparky Paul Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 This had me scratching my head a few years ago, the picture above is from Ford TIS, and it is wrong. The belt goes around the outside of the power steering pump, and inside the top idler, everything else it correct. You will probably find that the belt you have will then fit. :P Quote
sparky Paul Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 Tried to upload a pic for you, but keep getting 'This upload failed' :P Quote
