Davehillbo Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 Hi all, My Mk1 Galaxy is leaking, it leaks in from the passenger side roof area where the drains are. It looks like the hose has actually come away from the metal drain on the sunroof as I can see it when looking down. I have read that you need to take the covering off the inside of the galaxy to get at this, please can someone inform me how this is done? Many thanks! Dave. Quote
gregers Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 hi dave,if you look in the faqs in the tech section of the forum there are detailed instructions on how to take the roof lining out,my post on the subject is also in the depths of the forum somewhere, its a pain in the arse but it is achievable. 1st thing i would do is to make sure if the pipe is really off?pour some water down on that side and use a piece of curtain wire to gently poke down the run off pipe, once you have made sure that there is a leak then im afraid unless anyone else comes up with a better solution then you will have to drop the roof lining,MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CLEAN HANDS/GLOVES other wise you will mark/stain the lining and it wont come off.once you have followed the info on how to do this the lining comes out through the rear hatch/door,also make sure there is no wind http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gifother wise you end up running down the road holding said lining looking a bit of a prat in doing sohttp://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif,of course i WOULDNT KNOW as it NEVER HAPPENED TO MEhttp://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/public/style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif.anyway once out it should be self explanatory?good luck and keep us posted.
