dbnpoizn Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated Since my galaxy stopped working, and since Ford Kircaldy told me that a diagnosis would cost |75.25+vat| I have been trying to get the self diagnosing. I bought a kit OBD-II off ebay as this is apparently standard on all european cars from 2000 on, even though my car is late 99 it was worth a shot. It came with OBD software from The output protocol (connection to laptop) is USB. OBD-II Protocols: Quote
Mirez Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Did you actually search? There is a ton of information on the net... with a good couple of days reading just on here. The TDI is a VW engine and uses K line communications which isn't OBD2. Sell the lead back on - it won't work as the communication takes place on different pins to OBD2 - then purchase a VAG-COM cable and software set. Quote
dbnpoizn Posted July 20, 2010 Author Report Posted July 20, 2010 thanks mirez, that answers it to the tee, i'll post when I get the VAGCOM plugged in. it might be much easier to find that kind of info when you know what to look for, unfortunatly I was looking for OBD-II so just coming up with nil.
