Aircon Issues

Picked up an 09 Galaxy @.0 TDci at the weekend and yesterday driving up to London with external temperatures of 32 degrees outside we find the aircon is in fact blowing hot air and not cold on all temperatures of the climate control. Dealer apologised and thinks it needs re gasing. Our previous car (a Seat Altea XL) we had for 2 and half years and it never needed re gasing and it was an 07 model so is this a common fault with the Mk3? Responses much appreciated.

We are off to Wales in a couple of days time so had to arrange our locally to fix the issues and then we get the cost reimbursed by the dealer we bought it from - do hope that transaction doesn't screw up.
