Sammie Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Hey Me Again! When I purchased my Gal in March, there was advisory with the MOT to say brake discs and pads ALL ROUND need replacing ( OUCH)...Ive done a further 8000miles since and have another Wales trip coming up so need to change them all before I go! Mirez Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Sammie, I have a great invention for you:  http://wordpress.yell.com/builders/files/2010/02/tape-measure.jpg Use the chassis number not the reg as you need the manufacture date, not the registed dat. If you send me the chassis number (VIN) then I'll probably be able to tell you but even then it'll only be 80/90% accurate and in all seriousness the only sure fire way is to measure whats already on the car. Apparently the 15inch wheels have 288mm and 16inch have 300mm...well mine are 16's so technically they SHOULD be 300mm...but i will find out shortly! No need for the extra :P :P :P :P 's i knew ya was jesting  Quote

I have a MK2 2001/2 model and it has the 280mm discs - not the 300 that everyone said it should. Do as irez suggests and measure them. Quote
