2001 Mk2 Ghia No Steering Wheel Remote

Hi All,

 

We just bought a 2001 galaxy 1.9tdi ghia and It needs a little tlc, climate control fault, trim etc etc.

 

But on this matter, I also owned a mondeo 2001 ghia x that had sterio remote controls by steering wheel, and was a little dissapointed to find the galaxy facelift did not have this!

 

does anyone own a 2001 with sterio remotes or know if its possible to get this set up using parts from another mk?

Yes they did one but it was an expensive option at

but iirc there were differing options on the ghias?

as mine has cruise control it didnt get remote switches for the radio.

im sure ive read this somewhere before.

Cruise on the left, radio on the right - the stalks different is all. :D

im sure ive read somewhere something was omitted from the wheel area if you had summit else fitted instead???

No idea chap, unless its something to do with the ford radios? If you have the steering wheel controls you loose the stalk controls - afauk thats it?

Mine (2006 Ghia, most options) has the multifunction steering wheel, with the radio controls on the left of the airbag, below the horn buttons, and the cruise control buttons to the right of the airbag.

Yup, and thats the only configuration I'm aware of.
