Andy Collier Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 Our 54 plate galaxy 1.9 TDi Ghia has a problem. The middle seat belt (the one that comes our of the roof void and attaches to the middle row centre seat) is stuck in the fuly deployed position. We can neither get it to recoil or work out how to get to the tensioner mechanism to find out how we could relase it so it will recoil. Is this a specialist job beeter done by a trained Ford operative or is it do-able by an enthusiastic DIY-er? Comments and common experience welcome. Seeking a solution! Best Regards Andy Collier Quote
Mirez Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 Hi Andy! The seatbelt mechanism is right at the back of the headlining under that "lump" to get to it you need to lower the headlining - remove the D pillar covers, the two plastic screws and the tailgate rubber. You should be able to lower it enough to get access to the mechanism, just be carefull not to bend the headlining too much as if it creases you'll never get is out! Quote
