MrT Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 How do you find out exactly what is required in a service? There is a little in the service document and I cannot find (does not mean it is not there) any service recommendations on the TIS. I ask because I will shortly get the option to buy my Galaxy from the fleet management company and they are going to arrange for a final service in their own workshops just before I buy it. However I think they will give the minimum service possible rather than the full Ford dealer service a private owner would pay for. In the past the car was serviced by Ford on an annual basis (time rather than mileage) and will have done around 20,000 miles and be just over 30 months old. I don't want to have to pay for a full 3 year service ( Quote
Eddie Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 This info is in the Haynes manual. I can look it up for you later if no one else answers your question by then. I am told it is also on the TIS CD but I can't find it there.Eddie Quote
seatkid Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 The information is on the TIS CD. You have to install the checksheet generator program - go to the "disk1" folder on the CD and run the "setup.exe" found there. 30,000 /3 yr service is basically just oil/filter change and (optional) pollen filter change (if youre so inclined - I wouldn't bother). Plus a load of checks....like check doors don't squeak and most important of all ... check you've charged enough on the invoice - (don't forget that all important sachet of windscreen washer fluid!! Buncers Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 and don't forget break the air filter casing and vacuum pipe (if you go to Nationwide Autocenter) - then say "it was due to vibration and a brittle plastic". Quote
MrT Posted April 27, 2004 Author Report Posted April 27, 2004 Thanks for the info on the checksheet generator program. I never knew that. Are there any other hidden depths to the TIS? Quote
