Should My Engine Management Light Come On...

Should my engine management light come on when I turn the key to the glow plug warming position (position 2?) and without starting the car? All the other lights come on and go out except for this one, it doesn't come on at all. Do I even have one? :)

No, its not used on the diesel. The glowplug light doubles up as a management light on the TDI's

Thought as much, someone else told me otherwise and I started thinking the previous owner bodged it to stop the EML coming on.
