Key Flashing

The little LED on the key for my 99 TDi started flashing yesterday at the same time the remote locking stopped working.

 

I've looked in the manual and the only reference to this LED is that it should flash when the remote is operated,

 

Is the battery going, do I need to sync the key with the car or is there some other problem?

Problem now gone away and thought others might like to know what happened.

 

Tried syncing with no effect on the flashing light or remote operation - still didn't work.

 

Took the key apart to see where the battery was and cleaned it when it was opened up - et voila. Put it back together and it worked.

 

Have no idea what it was but don't you just love it when a fix costs you nothing.

Now now Dave just because you tried to break your Galaxy and failed at the first hurdle :lol: there's no need to take it on Jonathon :lol: and for the record I think Jonathon has a 115PD Alhambra ?

Thank you Nimrod for leaping to my defence.

 

Presently, it is a '99 110 TDi Alhambra with 148k up.

 

In 2 weeks it will be an 02 115 SE Alhambra.
