How Do You Know When Climate Control Is Aok?

My local Ford garage will be doing so work on my Climate control this week hopefully, replacing the compressor/condensor ( don't remember which - but it's quite major -

I'm sure somewhere there will be a specific test procedure, a simple test would be to select a low temperature (NOT THE 'LO' setting) say 18 degrees or so, with the engine running the a.c. compressor should cycle on and off. You should hear a distinct click when it comes on with a small drop in engine revs followed by a quieter thud when the compressor clutch de-energises. It can run for quite a while, especially at tickover and if the internal temp is high.

How odd, the warmer it is outside the air con gets cooler inside ?

Yes that is odd? wonder if it should be the other way round

The aircon will need to be cooler to keep the interior temperature right when the outside temperature is hotter.
