Guest rusty Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 hello, My local Ford garage will be doing so work on my Climate control this week hopefully, replacing the compressor/condensor ( don't remember which - but it's quite major - Quote
johnb80 Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 I'm sure somewhere there will be a specific test procedure, a simple test would be to select a low temperature (NOT THE 'LO' setting) say 18 degrees or so, with the engine running the a.c. compressor should cycle on and off. You should hear a distinct click when it comes on with a small drop in engine revs followed by a quieter thud when the compressor clutch de-energises. It can run for quite a while, especially at tickover and if the internal temp is high. Regards - JB Quote
HJT Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 This is from a previous post by Gazza that he obtained from a Seat Dealer. Ambient temp Output temp 18 8-12 20 7-11 25 6-10 30 5-9 35 4.5-8.5 Howard Quote
johnb80 Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 How odd, the warmer it is outside the air con gets cooler inside ? Regards - JB Quote
Tigger Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 Yes that is odd? wonder if it should be the other way round Quote
HJT Posted April 26, 2004 Report Posted April 26, 2004 The aircon will need to be cooler to keep the interior temperature right when the outside temperature is hotter. Howard Quote
