6 Speed Gearbox Information

Hi everyone new to this forum thing, so here goes Ive got a galaxy tdi 130 and Iam trying to find out how I check the oil,how often it is changed and what oil I should use. The reason for the oil change is I do alot towing and want to look after the box any info will be greatly recieved.

Hi Andy and welcome, technically the 6 speed box is filled for life with no maintenance or topping up required. However take a look at this thread:

especially page two, you'll find the part numbers and capacity for the new oil.

Had a good read and now know which oil and what tool to use the main reason for the change stiff gearchange in winter and towing a heavy caravan.Preventive maintance if you know what I

mean, one last thing which one is the drain plug as I dont want to undo anything I shouldnt.
