I have a noisy outer N/S CV (noisy on cornering). I have bought a new complete drive shaft that looks as though it just bolts on at the gearbox end. I have a photocopy of a repair manual (VW Sharon) - but the procedure seems very long winded and does not mention bolting on at the gearbox end. I've either been sent the wrong shaft or the manual refers to a different model (mine in a 2002 with 6 speed manual box).

Does anyone have a simple guide for fitting? Thanks.

The job is relatively easy as long as you have access to a long breaker bar and a GOOD socket set - the hub nut (27mm hex) needs to be tightened to 150Nm, then a further 90
